5 Simple Steps

Learn the essential workflow.

Work through these steps in order to experience the core Solo Planner workflow from start to finish.

STEP 1

Create a project

Start by creating a project for the goal or activity you want to manage.

  1. Tap the “+” button on the project list screen.
  2. Enter the project name, schedule, and other details.
  3. Review the information and save your new project.

Separate work, study, and personal activities into different projects to keep everything easy to find.

STEP 2

Add tasks

Break the project down into the specific tasks you need to complete.

  1. Select the project you want to work on from the project list.
  2. Tap the “+” button on the task list screen.
  3. Enter a task name, start date, due date, and other details.
  4. Save the information to add the task to your project.

Setting a due date lets you review the task schedule in the Gantt chart later.

STEP 3

Create a checklist

Turn a larger task into smaller, actionable items.

  1. Select a task from the task list to open its details.
  2. Choose the option to add a checklist item.
  3. Enter the item and add it to the checklist.
  4. Check off each item as you complete it.

Specific checklist items make it easier to see exactly what you should work on next.

STEP 4

Update task progress

Link progress to checklist completion so the task progress updates automatically.

  1. Turn on “Link to Progress” on the task details screen.
  2. Check off the checklist items you have completed.
  3. Progress is calculated from the proportion of completed items and updates in real time on the task details screen.

Breaking the checklist into smaller steps makes progress more accurate. Turn off “Link to Progress” to adjust task progress manually with the slider.

STEP 5

Review the Gantt chart

See task durations, overlaps, and progress on a horizontal timeline.

  1. Open the Gantt chart from the project screen.
  2. Change the displayed period to review your schedule.
  3. Check task durations, overlaps, and progress bars.

Look for overlapping work to adjust your plan and keep the schedule realistic.
